The images in *Paradigm Shift* articulate a fracture — a sense that the ground has shifted beneath our feet and the familiar structures of society are no longer holding.
These works respond to the growing sense of disorientation born from recent crises and social fragmentation. The figures within them are not merely representations of individuals, but echoes of a collective anxiety, a questioning of shared realities. The recurring motif of hands reaching, connecting, and ultimately failing to bridge divides speaks to the difficulty of maintaining cohesion in a polarized world.
The series employs a limited palette of rust orange and dim blue, colors that evoke both warmth and melancholy, hope and decay. These hues are not simply aesthetic choices; they are integral to the work’s thematic core, underscoring the tension between the desire for connection and the inevitability of entropy. The desert landscapes, architectural mazes, and surreal formations serve as symbolic representations of the challenges and uncertainties of our time.
The use of digital tools – specifically AI-generated imagery – is not intended to celebrate technological advancement, but rather to explore the inherent instability of manufactured realities. The images are rendered with a deliberate ambiguity, a refusal to offer easy answers or resolutions. Instead, they invite viewers to confront their own anxieties and to question the foundations of their perceptions.
The series avoids didacticism; it doesn’t offer solutions, but probes the problem. It asks whether shared experiences can still exist in a world increasingly defined by echo chambers and divergent truths. The figures are often isolated, even when seemingly connected, highlighting the pervasive sense of alienation that characterizes contemporary existence.
